This video course, Mastering French Pronunciation, is based on the research and teachings of two great French phoneticians of the 20th century, Dr. Pierre Delattre and Dr. André Malécot. We offer sincere admiration and appreciation for all the knowledge they brought to the field of French phonetics and the enormous contribution they made to generations of French students and teachers by training them in proper pronunciation and the phonetic principles of the French language. This present teaching aims to continue that tradition. The exercises in the Practice Sessions are taken primarily from the following works: P. Delattre: Les Difficultés Phonétiques du Français. Ecole Française, Middlebury College, Middlebury, Vermont. 1948

P. Delattre: Advanced Training in French Pronunciation. Pierre Delattre, Editor, Boulder, Colorado. 1949

Other works used as references:

P. Delattre: Principes de Phonétique Française à l’Usage des Etudiants Anglo-Américains. Ecole Française d’Eté, Middlebury College, Middlebury, Vermont. 1951

André Malécot: Introduction à la Phonétique Française. Mouton, The Hague-Paris. 1977.
